Extra points for candidates with debating / speech abilities
MPI aims to cultivate talents with debating and speech abilities, using extracurricular activities to complement student abilities. Through participating in training and competitions, the student’s confidence, logical analysis, breadth of knowledge and debating abilities can be enhanced. From this academic year the institute has established a special measure of adding extra points to attract talented students in this area. Those who have been champion, first runner-ups or second runner-up in these kinds of competions / contests, and who possess valid proofs or are able to provide documents issued by their schools to prove that they are in secondary high debating teams are eligible. Eligible candidates are awarded 10 extra points on their overall average scores of the entrance examination (Chinese / English/Math) to be taken as a reference in the screening / admission process.

 

Bachelor of Social Science in Gaming and Recreation Management programme
Applicants for the Bachelor of Social Science in Gaming and Recreation Management programme who are current employees of the gaming industry are eligible to waive the written admission examinations if they pass the interview and meet the following requirement:

have one year or more working experience in the gaming industry;
recommended by the current employer of the gaming industry;
comply with general admission criteria, i.e. graduated from senior secondary school by the time of programme commencement, or of 25 years or more of age by 1st September 2014.

 

Applicants should complete the application procedures online and submit the following documents to the Registry within the application period:

Application form (with 1.5 inch photo);
An original copy of a recommendation letter by current employer of the gaming industry (Position(s) served and period(s) of employment should be clearly stated in the recommendation letter. The recommendation letter should be signed by person-in-charge or department head and with a company or department seal);
A photocopy of valid Macao SAR resident ID card (the original copy should be presented for verification);
Photocopies of the academic reports of Senior Grade 1 to 3 or the highest education background (the academic reports of the latest 3 years) (the original copies should be presented for verification);
Photocopies of all proof of relevant working experience (only applicable for applicants who have served in more than one gaming operator) (the original copies should be presented for verification);
Photocopies of public examinations results or proof of awards (the original copies should be presented for verification).

Remarks:  Regardless of the admission result, all submitted documents will not be returned..


Bachelor of Arts in Chinese-English Translation and Interpretation:

Applicant who is the winner from the Senior High School Category for the MPI Macao-wide English Speech Contest, and fulfill the admission requirements, may apply for the exemption from the written admission examination(s)


Bachelor of Physical Education:

All applicants are required to sit for physical tests and written tests. However if the applicants are in active service, being major players in any sports teams representing Macao, or if they are highest record holders in Macao for any sports or have obtained excellent results in important international sports competitions, they can apply for admission to the programme on self-recommendation. Applicants who fulfill the above requirements and have proof evidenced by valid documents issued by the related sports federation in Macao or the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR can be confirmed in their self-recommendation status and their names included in the list of self-recommended students. Self-recommended students make up about one third of the admission quota.


Bachelor of Arts in Design

Graduates with prove of the certificate for the MPI Summer Arts Programs or short term courses in Design/ Visual Arts; or
Applicants with proof of award(s) in arts or design competition(s) in RAEM or overseas; or
The best five graduate class students of each secondary school in RAEM, with average grades of 75 marks or more for academic subjects and B or above for conduct for the graduating year, and with written recommendations by the secondary school principals on their special talent and ability in arts or design.

Candidates may apply the exemption for the written admission examination(s), but must succeed in the interview to be accepted in this programme.


Bachelor of Visual Art (Fine Arts/ Art Education)

Graduates with prove of the certificate for the MPI Summer Arts Programs or short term courses in Visual Arts; or
Applicants with proof of award(s) in arts or design competition(s) in RAEM or overseas; or
The best five graduate class students of each secondary school in RAEM, with average grades of 75 marks or more for academic subjects and B or above for conduct for the graduating year, and with written recommendations by the secondary school principals on their special talent and ability in arts or design.

Candidates may apply the exemption for the written admission examination(s), but must succeed in the interview to be accepted in this programme.
